The site had an area of 1400 acres. The idea was to preserve the existing green cover and character of the campus and yet densify the campus in a forward looking way. The campus at present was divided into a day and night campus almost due to the way land had been allocated, hence the plan tried to solve this issue while also creating many more connections. The suggested urban design guidelines also focused on the creation of a spine composed of interconnected plazas of varying scales, which would tie all the now disparate buildings as a larger whole. As that’s what we found was lacking, the idea of a campus, what exists now are separate institutions which remain isolated islands, the idea was to bring them together.
