National Institute of Fashion Technology

New Delhi, India

Year: 1988

Fashion is timeless and spaceless, even if it is ephemeral. To create and mount fashion shows one needs known and unknown settings, from being buried in the ground to hoisted in the sky.

An Institute of Fashion Technology can only express its function by non-linear and random character. It should diffuse both time, place and space.

Hence, the campus was divided into different blocks set around a kund connected to the basement. The solid, semi-open punctured facades are juxtaposed with variable convex and flat glazed facade.

With terraces and constantly changing reflected light, the court and the terraces become an ideal place to discover ever new settings.
