Shantinath Jain Temple Complex

Pune, India

Year: 2004

Walking in hot summers, without shoes or climbing staircases one searches for shaded areas and gradually slips into darker, quiter places. Suddenly, cool semi-lit forms and spaces awaken the spirit and serve their intended purpose.

To achieve this, the main temple is located deep inside the complex. The campus left bare without trees, looking to have an impact of starkness and bright light while naturally following one’s journey to shade.
